HOW IVYLEAGUE HELPS YOU BETTER

How IvyLeague helps you better

1. IvyLeague reverse engineers the test to identify tested issues and which concepts should be understood by a student to solve the questions effectively. The concepts to be taught are of three types: foundational, overt and covert. For example, no direct question from Interpersonal Skills including Communication Skills comes on the CSAT, but it is still part of the written syllabus of CSAT because if you are weak in this subject then you will automatically be weak in all the rest of five subjects of CSAT. So, the subject of Interpersonal Skills including Communication Skills needs its justified attention.

2. We broadly classify the question types and identify the strategy for solving each question type. Strategy is the most effective method to solve the question, which should meet four parameters:

  • Less time
  • Fewer steps
  • Avoids silly mistakes and trap options
  • Practical and easy to understand, to practice and to master

3. Identify the gap between what students know and what is tested on the exam. Focus separately on identifying hard core knowledge as well as skills gap.

4. Reiteration of concepts as a student moves further is an important requirement.

5. Judiciously divide the content to be taught into:

    1. Diagnostic test
    2. Pre-class priming material,
    3. Class room teaching,
    4. Post class homework,
    5. Practice material,
    6. Doubt sessions exercises
    7. Topic tests,
    8. Progressive tests and
    9. Mock Exams.

6.   Midcourse correction to be provided by students filling a workbook, which clearly identifies which issues taught in class have not been understood or retained. The topic tests, progressive tests, and simulated exams. Test dynamics have to taught by progressive tests and simulated exams.

7.   Benchmarking, monitoring, assessments, and remedial actions to be built into the system to identify issues that need attention, say basic concepts needed to understand what is taught in class are identified by benchmarking tests.

8.   Challenging concepts which have not been understood in class, and concepts which have been understood but not remembered/retained are identified by the post class workbook and homework assignments.

9.       Monitoring, assessments, and remedial actions are provided by topic tests, progressive tests while simulated exams provide a sense of Test dynamics and teach Test Taking Techniques.
